Document Control System Remote Scanning
Document control system - remote scanning functionality.
Customer: DOCOSYS GmbH, Polch, Germany

Examples of this are contracts and agreements signed by a company's clients.
To allow an online document management system to manage and control versions

function adding to their web-based document management system.
Solution: Sitex added remote scanning functionality into DOCOSYS by
creating a Windows application that can control and read a local scanner device

a client/server application that would solve the problem of archiving when employees
use different email clients.

run on their PCs. As they work with their email client, to send/receive Emails, this
service sends copies to the server component of the solution. This client works with
Email clients Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Novell Groupwise.

PETRA Nutrition/Diet Planner
Nutrition/Diet Planner
Customer: FuxWeb, Germany
Business Case: The client commissioned Sitex to develop a nutrition and diet planner that can

care homes. With their slowing metabolism, the elderly are often the most at risk from malnutrition.
The client approached Sitex with follow on projects, to enhance the solution.
Solution: Sitex has developed a Windows application that allows care homes to enter the
physical and lifestyle characteristics of their patients and to view the resultant nutritional
advice. The application makes use of a nutritional database, developed by the client, to calculate the advice.
Sitex developed a second release of nutrition/diet planner. To enhance usability of the program,
elements of the menu were able to be sorted into main component groups, which facilitate an enhanced
searching process.
Sitex developed an update for the nutrition/diet planner that includes a substantially extended report
generation and presentation (screen and printer) tool.
Tools and Technologies: C++, WTL, Firebird.

Pilorama Saw Mill
Timber saw-mill process automation
Customer: FuxWeb, Germany
Business Case: The client, a timber saw-mill, required an application to help to automate
its internal business processes.
The application was required to store customer orders, to record the status of these orders
and to produce, print and archive invoices. Each order needs to store the details of the
customer, the precise details of the order and the agreed cost.
The client requested a second phase to the project after the successful completion of the
first phase. In the second phase, the client requested enhanced navigation between orders.
Solution: Sitex developed a Windows application for this solution. The application uses
simple forms to allow users to add orders, and a list showing all the orders, that can be sorted
according to the order status, or the customer name. A detailed view window was also provided to
show the full details of any particular order. The application contained large buttons for
performing actions, like printing invoices, and also some short-cut keys, to speed up the
operators’ ability to enter new orders.
For the follow-up version, in the second phase, Sitex added a colour scheme to the orders list,
so operators’ could see at a glance the status of the different orders. Navigation buttons were
added to the detailed view windows, to allow the operator to quickly move between orders. A log
file has been created to record all the operations carried out by the operator, this will enable
to client to trace any errors that are reported in the orders.
Tools and Technologies: C++.
Benefits: This solution greatly reduced the administrative overhead of processing orders
in the saw-mill, saving the client time and money. The system also allowed for a small reduction
in the order processing time, resulting in higher levels of customer satisfaction.
Quality Management System
QuMan
Customer: Private Medical Health Care Enterprise
in Germany
Business Case: The customer required document database management solution that will be able
to store all soft copies of documents used by the enterprise for management as well as patient care.
The solution is intended for use by employees with very little computer experience. The solution also
was required to help them maintain their quality standards and retain their ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Solution: Sitex graphical design team created a number of interface design mock-ups and the
merits of each design were discussed with the customer. The design that was agreed upon uses mostly
gray scale color scheme as this helped to simplify the look of application, which helps the
inexperienced computer user to feel more comfortable quickly. The user interface has large, easy
to distinguish buttons, with text to help the user, and more complicated functions can be selected
using a large tab panel, with functionality provided in a clear and large font.

School Manager
School Manager

Krasnoyarsk, Russia
Business Case: The client required a PC based tool for organizing lessons and
other activities carried out in the school.

contact details etc.), the lessons that the pupil has been enrolled in as well as
tracking payments received for this pupil.

Pupil information included personal information, groups and classes in which the pupil is
enrolled, the resources needed for those classes (teachers, classrooms and materials),
the pupil’s study history at the school, the results of tests and the record of payments.

Web Camera
Client/Server Application for Web Cameras
Customer: Gigacodes GmbH, Germany
Business Case: Most home web cameras
only allow one application to access the
feed from the WDM driver. This limitation
prevents other desktop applications from
accessing the video feed. The most common
work around is to use a screen capture
driver, though this also is limited as the
video feed may be lost when the user
switches applications. The client required a
solution that would allow multiple
applications to connect to the video feed
from any web camera without limitation.
Solution: Sitex developed a 2-part
solution for this client. The first part was
a small server application that runs as a
background application with an icon in the
system tray. The second part was a fake WDM
driver that allowed multiple instances. This
driver registered as a web cam driver and
applications can connect to it to receive
the video feed. Multiple fake drivers can
run on a single PC in order to provide near
unlimited applications to connect to the
feed. The client and server parts connect
via TCP/IP, allowing applications on other
computers to also connect to this feed.
The client application was designed to cope
with video errors, such as missing frames or
loss of processing time.

Windows2000/XP, C++, WTL, Winsock,
Windows 2000 Driver Development Kit,
